Wood elves, although rarely seen in the “civilised” world, are the more common variety of elf. They are so named for their tendency to stick to wooded areas and great forests, as opposed to cleared farmland. They do build cities and villages, often built amongst the surrounding trees, while other groups of wood elves are more nomadic.
They have a xenophobic streak and are rarely friendly to humans and other creatures who stray too far into their homes, but usually refrain from deadly reprisals unless threatened. Wood elves are well-known for their archery and swordsmanship, as well as an affinity for magic.
Wood elves follow the standard Pathfinder creation rules for elves.
Update for 5th Edition - Wood elves use the standard Wood Elf subrace option.
